School Goal

GCE has a SPS of 86.5.  Our goal is to increase the SPS to 91.5 or better, in order to meet the growth target and maintain a "B" or better school status, by increasing the percent of proficient students in each of the following grade levels:

 

By the end of 2017-2018 academic school year,

4th grade: 

  • ELA: By the end of the 2017-18 school year, 4th grade will increase their ELA overall Index by at least 1 points to 103.4.
  • Math: By the end of the 2017-18 school year, 4th grade will increase their Math overall Index by at least 5 points to 82.4.
  • Social Studies: By the end of the 2017-18 school year, 4th grade will increase their Social Studies overall Index by at least 5 points to 64.4.

3rd grade:

  • ELA: By the end of the 2017-18 school year, 3rd grade will increase their ELA overall Index by at least 5 points to 83.0.
  • Math: By the end of the 2017-18 school year, 3rd grade will increase their Math overall Index by at least 3 points to 92.7.
  • Social Science: By the end of the 2017-18 school year, 3rd grade will increase their Social Studies overall Index by at least 5 points to 71.2

2nd grade:

  • ELA: By the end of the 2017-18 school year, at least 70% of second graders will read 87 words or more per minute as evidenced by DIBELS.
  •  

1st grade:

  • ELA: By the end of the 2017-18 school year, at least 60% of first graders will read 47 words or more per minute as evidenced by DIBELS.

Kindergarten:

  • ELA: 15% or less of our Kindergarten students will be intensive in NWF by May 2018.

  • Math: 64% of our Kindergarten students will score proficient on the addition and subtraction fluency assessment by May 2018.

Pre-Kindergarten:

  • ELA: 90% of students will be able to identify 39 out of 52 upper and lowercase letters.
  • Math: 85% of students will be able to identify the numbers 0-10.

PE:

  • K-2nd:   Students will be able to play in personal space and gain a passion for being physically active.
  • 3rd & 4th Students will be able to complete age appropriate sit-ups in a minute and gain a passion for living a physically active lifestyle.

 

Computer Lab:

  • Kindergarten: By the end of the school year, 75% or more of students will know parts of the computer and be able to navigate a teacher chosen website.
  • 1st grade:  By the end of the school year, 60% or more of students will know basic keyboarding strokes (type name, shift key, enter spaces, backspace)
  • 2nd grade: By the end of the school year, 56% or more of students will type 5 words per minute with 80% accuracy.
  • 3rd grade: By the end of the school year, 58% or more of students will type 6 words per minute with 80% accuracy.
  • 4th grade: By the end of the school year, 63% or more of students will type 8 words per minute with 80% accuracy.
